Journalist Piers studied law at University before becoming a traded options broker in the city. He left the city to go travelling and following a chance meeting and a bad decision was arrested for gold smuggling and spent some time in a Nepalese jail – his story is documented in an episode of Banged Up Abroad for Channel 5.
Returning to the UK, Piers became a journalist for men’s magazine Loaded. He then launched and was the award winning editor of Front Magazine for four years (featured in BBC2’s Trouble Between the Covers) before joining FHM as a columnist and then Editor at Large. He is a regular contributor to Radio 5, Radio 4, Radio 2, Newsnight, BBC Breakfast and numerous other documentary and chat shows where he is most frequently asked for his opinion on laddism, gender wars, modern men, and changing cultural trends. He is currently senior features writer at the Mail on Sunday’s men’s magazine Live where he writes interviews, on adrenalin sports and experiential features. Piers has just filmed a pilot for Nat Geo on History’s Worst Prisons and is writing his first novel.
